I received a message from a friend saying that she had met a colleague who was also out and about with Olympus equipment. He knew me – not personally, of course – and didn’t like me because he had asked me a question once and I hadn’t been nice in my answer. […]
It’s just been a topic again and it keeps coming up and I get emails saying “how can I support you”. Of course, I’ve been thinking about all this for almost a decade now, basically since I took over oly-e and realised that all this internet advertising stuff doesn’t even bring in […]
I have once again made “Copy&Paste”….. Seriously, it’s not my fault that the OM-1II is so strange. It’s an OM-1 with a few nice things built in, a few other nice things forgotten, a completely new AF logic and which is claimed to be the best of all cameras. I don’t claim […]
It was back in 2005, in the middle of the summer, when Stefan Hendricks, at the time moderator of oly-e, was fed up with constantly maintaining the FAQ on oly-e. So he set up a wiki and named it “olypedia”. On July 14, 2005 at 12:38 (and 24 seconds) he released his […]
It’s just time to say thank you. A few things have happened in the last few weeks that have really flashed me. Firstly, Helge received a camera to try out his battery dummy within a very short space of time – and from a photo retailer too. And he also received a […]
I started translating some articles into English some time ago, but stopped because the effort involved in translating almost 2000 articles was beyond my imagination. Now that I’ve been doing daily content for over a year and I’ve had a lot of requests for English versions, I’ve decided to post all new […]
I distribute my “e-books” as PDFs. Without copy protection. Without DRM or other stuff. I rely on the fairness of my customers. Many Franzis titles are already on the net via piracy platforms and if you write to them as an author saying that they are doing bad things, then it’s like […]
