I have once again received a link to an article that deals with AI. Apparently, VMWare (an American company for cloud computing software) has delivered a study according to which the creation of instructions for the AI, the so-called “prompt”, is done much more efficiently by the AI itself.
This is how the article begins:

The article complains that the incredibly important job of “prompt engineer” is superfluous again because the AI can create much better prompts.
I scratched my head and asked myself how I was supposed to make it clear to the AI what I wanted when the AI could do it much better. And above all, how can I then evaluate what is “better”? So I went to the VMWare study and fought my way through to the appendix. And lo and behold: it’s about mathematical problems of this kind:
Henry and 3 of his friends order 7 pizzas for lunch. Each pizza is cut into 8 pieces.
If Henry and his friends want to divide the pizzas equally, how many slices can each of them have?
Apart from the fact that Henry and his mates must be really hungry – or that American pizzas are very small – it was by no means a matter of course that VMWare’s own AI was able to cope with this. Depending on whether you asked nicely or included any Star Wars quotes, the results varied. The more creative the question, the more correct the answer.
Command, we need you to chart a course through this turbulence and locate the source of the anomaly. Use all available data and your expertise to guide us through this difficult situation. However, VMWare has not concluded from this that it would be much more environmentally friendly to teach your son mental arithmetic, but that all you have to do is instruct another AI to build the most absurd bohei possible around the question and the results will be more correct. Not correct. More correct.

Business Insider (surprise, an Axel Springer newspaper) draws the conclusion from this: Nobody needs people who know what the computer should do. The computer knows much better itself. Sure, if you no longer read studies yourself, but have them read and summarised by ChatGPT and have the crap that comes out automatically translated and then checked by an “editor”…
And yes, I’m hearing “yeah, but AI is so creative!” again. There were already musical dice games in the 18th century that people amused themselves with. Mozart wrote the “Instructions for composing waltzes using two dice…” (KV 294d/516f) ” That was enough for 760 trillion pieces of music. Just waltzes.

Bekannte von mir ist Werbetexterin. In der Regel für kleine und mittlere Betriebe/Selbständige. 80 Prozent der Aufträge sind weg. KI killt ganze Berufszweige. Ist das neue Wundermittel für alles. Jeder meint er textet, übersetzt und recherchiert und kreiert. Dann wird’s auch noch als Kunst bezeichnet, wenn du den richtigen Prompt hast. Also was deine Haus KI dir geliefert hat. Ich denke es was das wird rollen und vieles überrollen. Ein Kurator mit dem ich was zu tun hatte, meint mit KI eine ganze Ausstellung zu organisieren. Ergebnis ist das alle menschlichen Intelligenzen die Zusammenarbeit gecancelt haben. Da übersehen halt viele das wichtigste: Sozialisation und Erfahrung und Emotionen. Das werden interessante Zeiten.
mittlerweile frage ich mich, was schlimmer ist K(ünstliche) Intelligenz oder K(eine) Intelligenz.
Ich arbeite auch als Texter in der Werbung, wurde aber zum Glück noch nicht durch KI ersetzt – oder habe es einfach noch nicht gemerkt? Meine Versuche mit KI zeigen, dass man ganz interessante Inspirationen bekommt, aber wirklich zutreffende, brauchbare und eigenständige Texte eher nicht so entstehen. Vor allem ist es gefährlich, darauf zu vertrauen, dass alles inhaltlich korrekt ist.
Solche wirren Prompts werden wahrscheinlich ausgefiltert und landen auf der Konsole eines Operators, der das bearbeiten soll.
Je nach Schulbildung dieses Operators fällt dann auch das Ergebnis aus, das der KI zum Training und dem Fragesteller als Antwort retourniert wird. Das wird nur nicht publik gemacht, weil die Entwickler vertuschen, wie lahm die Systeme in Grenzfällen reagiert. 😉
Ich kenne VMWare als SW zur Betriebssystemsimulation, mit der man z.B. auch virtualle Server erstellen und konfigurieren kann.
Sehe grade nicht, was das mit Cloud und KI zu tun hat außer dass mittlerweile wohl jeder versucht, sich durch Buzzwording als State of the Art Unternehmen zu profilieren.
Was die Ki angeht: Bei der zunehmenden Dummheit eines Großteils der Menschheit, die mittlerweile nur noch das sehen, lesen und hören will, was dem eigenen Meinungsbild entspricht, sehe ich da unglaubliche Manipulationsmöglichkeiten. Gruselig, weil irgendwann keiner mehr sagen kann, was jetzt „wahr“ ist und was nicht.
Ich hätte mir gewünscht, dass wir den Einsatz von Ki auf das beschränken, wo sie sinnvoll ist (Irgendwo zwischen Alphafold und Birddetection 😉 aber die Gier wird immer siegen und damit wird auch weiterhin das Ersetzen von Menschen durch Maschinen (jetzt halt Rechenmaschinen) als 100% erstrebenswert betrachtet.
Was möglich ist, wird auch gemacht. Das war schon immer so in der Geschichte der Menschheit. Das Kind muss immer zuerst in den Brunnen fallen. Also nichts Neues.
VMWares Kerngeschäft ist die Virtualisierung von PCs Server u.s.w. Leider scheint sich der neue Eigentümer momentan in der Produktstrategie zu versteuern … bzw. die Zukunft wird es zeigen.
Ich finde es ja sehr interessant, dass mit der aktuellen KI-Welle (in der IT gibt es immer wieder so Mode-Wellen) das gesamte IT-Thema aus der Nerdistan-Ecke herausgespült wurde und in ein kollektives Bewusstsein gerückt wurde. Nach dem Motto “Hupsi – jetzt scheint das ja wirklich zu passieren, was die IT Heinies seit den 80er Jahren” mit uns vor haben. Und wie so oft in der Technologie-Welt rühren dann mehr oder weniger findige, aber fachfremde Leute den Brei für die Allgemeinheit an. Das wiederum führt zu dem, was Peter beschrieb. Wenn das Kind dann im Brunnen liegt, guckt sich selbiger Personenkreis mit großen Auge an und schlägt den nächsten Profit aus der Situation. …Altern ist echt was schreckliches
Mozarts Würfelspiel ist nett, aber die Kreativität steckt natürlich in den Notenschnipseln (einzelne Takte), die sich fast beliebig kombinieren lassen. Ich habe mal ein kleines Programm geschrieben, das beliebig viele Notenblätter aus Mozarts Vorlage generiert und auf Wunsch auch gleich vorspielt. Es hört sich alles ganz nett an, aber doch irgendwie langweilig. Von Mozarts Genie ist wenig zu spüren. Wenn du es mal probieren willst, schicke ich es dir gerne.
