I have now collected what I have accumulated in the last 20 years of Olympus batteries. From left to right:
FS-BN1. This is the battery pack for the FS-HV1, the high-voltage pack for the FL-50 and Fl-50R. (Anyone else remember this flash?) The packs have almost all died by now, mine is still working. You can take them apart and replace the AA cells that are in them with Eneloops.
LI-50B. These are the cells for all the compacts, the Toughs and the XP-1. And the LS-100 PCM recorder.
Behind that a BLM1. These were the batteries for the later Camedia, for example the 8080. And of course all the SLRs from the E-1 to the E-3. The white battery next to it is not a “clone” but a BLM-5.
The BLM-5 was delivered with the E-5. Had one contact more, instead of 7.2V 7.4V and 120mAh more. But needed a new charger. That unfortunately refused to charge the old BLM-1, which otherwise worked without complaint in the E-5.
Then comes the BLL-1, which was the latch in the battery grip of the E-1. They’re long gone from new, too – as are BLM-1s and BLM-5s, by the way. I still have three BLL-1 that work.
Next to it the BLH-1 from E-M1II,X and III.
Then come the two BLS. 1 and 50.There was another BLS-5, but it looks like the 50 from a distance. The old charger loads them all without a fuss. And even the BLS-1s that came out with the E-400 in 2006 still work with the current cameras. E-M5III for example.
The small one on the far right is the BLN-1, which has been out of stock for a year. Came on the market with the E-M5 and was used in E-M1 and PEN-F. And in some other cameras. When it came on the market and everyone moaned “another new battery” I was given an explanation by Olympus Hamburg that I will never forget: “The users always stuffed the BLS-5 into the slot the wrong way round and damaged the camera in the process. That’s why we have a new battery with rounded edges.”
It wasn’t until one E-PL after another came on the market with the supposedly unfit BLS-50 that it slowly dawned on me that someone in Hamburg had sold me for really, really stupid.
Speaking of being taken for a fool: The person who spread the rumor about the BLH-compatible BLX – he was.
Olympus always made sure that new batteries were not compatible, even if they had similar values on paper. Because it just didn’t fit when the camera really wanted to draw power.

Nicht nur erinnern – die beiden 50R sind noch heute die großen in meiner Tasche. Lange Zeit kamen keine aktuellen Oly-Blize an diese Leistung heran. Es war eine bewusste Entscheidung für dieses Modell im Abverkauf.
Auch im Abverkauf waren mal die BLS-1 mit drei Kontakten als die ersten mit vieren (BLS-50) auf den Markt kamen. Diese Orignal-Akkus (zum Preis von Clonen) verrichten bis heute ausnahmlos ihren Dienst – bei vollständiger Kompatibilität.

Da muss ich Dich korrigieren, die ersten mit vier Kontakten waren die BLS-5. (etwas Dunkelgrauer,) Die hatten auch 1150mAh wie der BLS-1, aber eben den vierten Kontakt. Die BLS-50 hatten dann 1175mAh.
Du hast recht. Es war der BLS-5 (mit auch 1150 mAh), den ich oben meinte.
Bei mir sind meine beiden FL-50 die ersten und letzten großen Blitze in der FT und mFt Zeit. Ich habe sie noch.
Seit E-1Mk2 blitze ich (fast) nicht mehr. Wenn ich mal Licht für Makros brauche, dann nehme ich meine Lupine Taschenlampen.
Ich bin über jeden Batteriegriff dankbar der auch mit AA Batterien / Eneloops betrieben werden kann. Leider gab es sowas zuletzt bei der E-3/E-5.
Ich ärgere mich etwas, dass ich mir den FS-BN1 damals nicht genauer angesehen habe, als er auf Grund von chronischem Nichtbenutzen hin war. Mit ein wenig Bastelei ein paar Eneloops einlöten, das wäre super gewesen.
Aber die FL50r sind nach wie vor im Einsatz, wenn auch – wieder – selten.
Und WOW- jetzt kommt nach allem was man so hört, noch ein Akku dazu, der natürlich wieder nicht in die alten (für EM1sen) bzw. wo die bisherigen E-M1sen Akkus nicht in die neue Kamera passen dürften.
Seufz – also noch ein Ladegerät mehr in den Urlaub mitzunehmen, noch genauer drauf achten, dass bei zwei Kamerabodies auch die passenden Reserveakkus in der Tasche sind. Da trauere ich echt meiner alten Camedia hinterher, die lief noch mit vier Eneloops- im Notfall konnte ich da sogar den Blitz ausrauben.

Da kann ich nur sagen: Da gibt’s von Eneloop so ne Powerbank, die kann man als Ladegerät an die neue Anschließen. Da sind Eneloops drin…….
Das interessiert mich. Ich habe aber auf der eneloop-Seite keinerlei Info zu einer Powerbank finden können. Sie listen Akkus und Charger. Bitte um einen Hinweis. Danke

Zwei FL-50R und einen FL-36R sogar regelmäßig im Einsatz. Mein FS-BN1 im FS-HV1 ist leider auch hinüber. Da musst du mir mal bitte zeigen, wie ich den auf bekomme um die Zellen zu ersetzen…

Ich habe mein BCN-1 Ladegerät verloren – wie sind denn Eure Erfahrungen mit den Nachbaten? Schrotten die die Originalakkus?
Die Erfahrungen sind schlicht schlecht. Frag mal auf oly-e in der Fundgrube, ob einer eines übrig hat. Ein originales.
