The driver’s side looks quite presentable again, the passenger side is still hidden in the bushes… At the moment, the duck is disassembled underneath anyway, the kingpins have to be replaced and then the eyes for the suspension have to be replaced as well – it will have to endure a lot in the far north. Tomorrow she’ll be back home, will – hopefully – get her MOT and also the original cardboard underbody protection for the engine compartment. Normal duck drivers throw it away pretty quickly because it ruins the frame. But since our specimen here has a fully galvanised backbone, it will go underneath – firstly, it will make her quieter – and secondly, the disc brakes will be better protected against splash water.
