It just popped up again in a comment: there are people who come here via links from outside, read through the linked article and then disappear again. And then immediately request that a) and b) and c) be dealt with and that d), e) and f) are missing.
And if you then point out to them that this is in the next article – no, I don’t want to read your whole website….
I have been writing “oly-e-papers” for a while now, in which I have worked through complex issues in PDFs. In one document. Everything in it. Yeah no, do I think people would read through these long things? You’d have something else to do.
Sure, pleasing everyone is an art that nobody can do. I understand that you don’t link directly to pen-and-tell. A link like that shows completely different things after a week. But there is a cool feature in the articles: keywords. If you link to pen-and-tell because of the batteries, then it would be a smart trick to link to the keyword “Akku” (german for “battery”) and not to an article from five years ago. After all, things have changed with batteries too.
What’s more, the WordPress search function has a “bug” – it only returns one page of results. But if you link to the keyword, you get all the articles that are tagged with it. Even across several pages .
And now again the “Call To Action” – the standard tool to increase response rates: If you search for things and realise you find too little or too much or you have to laboriously search for several articles on a topic. Then let me know which keyword you’re missing and I’ll see if I can add it. In the next few months, I’ll be working on all the articles anyway because I want to translate them – and then compile the desired book from them at some point.
So if you link here, then of course I’m happy, but use links to keywords, then the reader automatically gets up-to-date information when clicking on the link.

Auf dieses Buch freue ich mich.
Es wird eine Enzyklopädie für sehr viele Sonderthemen, Fallstricke und spezielle Probleme, die oft tagesaktuell sind und waren und damit in den Büchern und deren Updates keinen Platz finden konnten. Sie wird das Salz in der Suppe unseres Systems und Quelle für sehr viele Lösungen.
Ich habe aus diesen unzähligen Beiträgen sehr viel gelernt, aber weiterwandernd den Überblick verloren; nun kommt dieser Kalender zurück.

In‘s portugiesische übersetzen, dass der Service auch was davon hat? 🙂
Interessant, auf die Schlagwörter hatte ich bisher nicht geachtet. Allerdings ist das vermutlich auch kein Allheilmittel, zumindest habe ich den Eindruck, dass bei manchen Seiten noch ein paar Schlagwörter ergänzt werden könnten. Beispiel: https://pen-and-tell.de/tag/OM-1+Autofokus/ findet einen Eintrag (OM-1 der neue AF). Ich hätte jetzt erwartet, dass zumindest der Artikel “OM-1 Firmware 1.6 – neuer AF” und evtl. noch die Bezirksklasse-Artikel auch ein “Autofokus” Schlagwort verdient hätten. Und der “Es wird weiter geforscht”-Artikel hat kein spezifisches Schlagwort, der ursprüngliche Artikel “150-400 Bajonettproblem” hat ein “150-400”. Ich hätte da evtl. noch bei Beiden ein “Bajonett” als Schlagwort ergänzt. (Aber ich schaffe es ja nicht mal, meine eigenen Bilder sauber zu verschlagworten, also sollten meine Empfehlungen entsprechend mit Vorsicht betrachtet werden 😉 )
Genau das ist mein Gedanke: das mit den Stichwörtern ausbauen. Ich werde mich mal dranmachen.

Ja, ist schon frech, wenn Gratis-Content noch in Arbeit ausartet. Wieso gibts nicht alles auf dem Silbertablett?!
Manchmal staune ich schon ob der Gratismentalität und Faulheit gewisser Zeitgenossen…

Es gibt keine Übersicht. Vielleicht mache ich mal ne Schlagwortwolke. Aber dazu muss ich da erst aufgeräumt haben.
Das mit der Garantieerweiterung. Ich glaube, der Artikel stand nie auf pen-and-tell. Das Thema haben wir mal beim FolyFos besprochen. Ich find den Artikel auch nicht mehr.
