At the last FolyFos we announced a competition, simply take pictures, send them to us, we judge (i.e. give our opinion and award points) and the sender with the most points gets a package of Olympus merchandise from me. Blue-eyed as we are, we sent it out and the next day the experts and competition professionals said “Yes, but….”
So here are the “rules” for you to read:
- Closing date for entries: 31.1.2024
- Judging: 2.2.2024 as part of the FolyFos
- Dispatch of the package on 4.2.
- Theme: “6+1=7” We are looking for six pictures, each with six similar motifs that are related to a seventh different motif. If there is a common thread running through the six pictures despite the different motifs, this is positive.
- Format of the images: 16:9, resolution long side 1920 pixels. Landscape format
- Granting of rights: The sender grants me the right to show the images publicly as part of the FolyFos. This means that the images will be published on YouTube and/or later on Vimeo. They also grant me the right to reduce the size of the images for the purpose of an overview presentation. This granting of rights is not limited in time.
- Rights of third parties: The sender assures that he has been granted the rights of recognizable persons, copyrighted works and property owners in order to be able to grant the above-mentioned rights.
- The judging is final and cannot be contested.
- The judging is anonymous, so there must be no logos or recognizable watermarks in the images.
- Image content: We will not show things that are not allowed to be shown on YouTube.
- AI: If you think you need something like this…. (Caution! Especially with AI-generated images, the legal situation regarding the granting of rights is by no means clear).
- Image editing: Photoshop fails are mercilessly picked apart and laughed at. If you want to make composings, then make them so good that we won’t notice.
- Send the pictures to the e-mail address in the imprint
Something like this, for example.
Or something like that:
For the sake of simplicity, I’ve just taken a few photos from the light tent. You can do that, but of course you can also take photos from outside. Even us stupid jurors should notice the differentiating and unifying aspects of the 6 and 1 motifs. They don’t have to be in a row like here, but it’s also silly if you have to search for the six similar motifs in the picture first.
So, see what you can come up with….
And have a quiet, peaceful Christmas.
